In 'Noch einmal meine Mutter sehen', Zana Muhsen narrates her shocking personal experience. Born and raised in Birmingham, of Yemeni origin, Zana is taken to Yemen with the promise of a family vacation. However, at the age of 15, she discovers that she has been sold into marriage and finds herself a prisoner in a completely foreign environment. Adapting to a life without running water, with dung-plastered walls and constant abuse, Zana struggles to survive and, after eight years of suffering, manages to escape. This book is an updated account of her harrowing experience, where she shares her struggle to rescue her sister, who remains in Yemen.

Zana Muhsen, is a British author known for her book Sold: Story of Modern-day Slavery and its follow-up A Promise to Nadia. The books narrate the experiences that she and her sister Nadia Muhsen went through after they were sold into marriage by their father, Muthanna Muhsen, a Yemeni émigré.
