«Nordeste» is the literary novel by Éric Fottorino, published by LGF/Le Livre de Poche in paperback (183 pages, in French).
Suzanne, who dreamed of flying over the Amazon, meets Waldemar Cuzco, a trafficker who sells children to wealthy Europeans. Waldemar, redeemer and criminal at once, fascinates Suzanne and her son, a painter who cannot capture his portrait. Fottorino composes the portrait of a contradictory man and of the Brazilian Northeast, fascinating and disinherited.
The original edition was published in 2001 under the title «Nordeste : roman». This paperback edition offers the complete text.
