«Comment voyager avec un saumon» (Nouveaux pastiches et postiches) is the collection of satirical articles by Umberto Eco, in paperback.
Eco portrays with humor the small battles of modern man against technology and bureaucracy: the salmon that doesn't fit in the hotel minifridge, the endless software manuals, and the leaflets that make a harmless medicine threatening. The volume concludes with the Cacopédie, an encyclopedic parody that takes scientific knowledge to the absurd.
Second volume of the Diario minimo series, originally published in Italian as «Il secondo diario minimo» (1992). This French edition, translated by Myriem Bouzaher, has 283 pages.
For readers of essays and humor who want to discover the most playful side of Umberto Eco, with short, independent texts.

Umberto Eco was an Italian medievalist, philosopher, semiotician, novelist, cultural critic, and political and social commentator. In English, he is best known for his popular 1980 novel The Name of the Rose, a historical mystery combining semiotics in fiction with biblical analysis, medieval studies and literary theory, as well as Foucault's Pendulum, his 1988 novel which touches on the history of occultism and its contemporary interpretation through the new age movement.
