Nullzeit is a novel that follows Sven Fiedler, a German diving instructor who has left his home country in search of paradise on a Spanish island. There, with his partner Antje, he welcomes German tourists for diving. Among them are Jola, a soap opera actress who longs to be recognized for her talent, and Theo, a writer creatively blocked. The relationship between Jola and Theo is tense and distant, leading Sven to get involved in their couple problems. The plot thickens further when the reader must discern which version of the story is true: Sven's or Jola's.

Juli Zeh is a German writer and judge. She is known for novels such as The Method (2009), Unterleuten (2016) and About People (2021).
