«Numéro zéro» is Umberto Eco's novel in paperback edition (240 pages, in French).
In Milan in 1992, six journalists prepare the issue zero of a new newspaper. Archival research on postwar Italy uncovers bombings, coup attempts and political conspiracies. When one of those involved turns up dead, the protagonist understands how the press manipulates reality and hides the truth.
The work, whose original title is «Numero zero», was published in 2015; this French edition appeared in March 2016.
For readers of Umberto Eco and historical fiction with political intrigue and media criticism.

Umberto Eco was an Italian medievalist, philosopher, semiotician, novelist, cultural critic, and political and social commentator. In English, he is best known for his popular 1980 novel The Name of the Rose, a historical mystery combining semiotics in fiction with biblical analysis, medieval studies and literary theory, as well as Foucault's Pendulum, his 1988 novel which touches on the history of occultism and its contemporary interpretation through the new age movement.
