This book, titled 'O afiador', is a chronicle of a declining trade in inland Galicia. The author, Xosé Antón Fidalgo Santamariña, presents the last epic of Galician popular culture, studying the history of knife grinders and umbrella repairers with a scientific methodology. The work is complemented by an extensive compilation of the vocabulary of this trade, known as 'o barallete'.
