«O Clube de Dante» is the mystery novel by Matthew Pearl and Isabel Andrade, published by Planeta Editora in paperback (407 pages, in Portuguese).
In 1865 Boston, a series of murders imitates the punishments of Dante's Inferno. The clues point to a group of scholars working on the first American translation of the Divine Comedy: only they recognize in the crimes the model of the poem's torments.
First installment of the The Dante Club series; the Portuguese edition is from 2004 and the English original, The Dante Club, from 2003.
For readers of historical mystery fiction and for fans of stories set in the world of books.
