«O Incrível Rapaz que Comia Livros» is the children's story by Oliver Jeffers, published by Orfeu Negro in hardcover (32 pages, in Portuguese).
Henrique has a very peculiar habit: he devours books and, the more he ingests, the wiser he becomes. He dreams of becoming the smartest person in the world, but his unusual diet soon takes its toll. The story humorously explores the relationship between the thirst for knowledge and the way we enjoy reading.
Portuguese edition published in 2009, translated by Rui Lopes. The work was awarded in the Irish Children's Book of the Year (Jnr) category at the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards in 2007.
A picture book designed for children who are starting to read and for shared reading at home or at school.
