«O Lago» is the novel by Ana Teresa Pereira, published by Relógio d'Água in paperback (129 pages, in Portuguese).
Jane, an actress, is drawn into a devastating relationship with Tom, her stage director; in that process, the person becomes a character and the character becomes a person. Ana Teresa Pereira's prose turns the lake into an inner landscape of solitude and memory, with a contemplative and reflective atmosphere.
O Lago won the Grande Prémio de Romance e Novela APE/IPLB.
For readers interested in contemporary Portuguese literature and in intimate narratives about identity and memory.
