«O Rato Renato Não Quer Comer» is a children's story by Anna Casalis, illustrated by Marco Campanella, published by Asa in hardcover (26 pages, in Portuguese).
Renato is a little mouse who, like many children, doesn't want to eat his carrots. His mother tells him stories about forest animals that in winter only eat dried pine cones and bark, to teach him that his food isn't so bad and convince him to try it.
The original work, «Topo Tip non vuole mangiare», belongs to the Topo Tip series; this Portuguese edition is translated by Sara Costa.
Recommended for early readers and for reading aloud to children who resist trying new foods.
