In 2014, artist Rokudenashiko was arrested in Japan for violating obscenity laws after launching a crowdfunding campaign to create a kayak shaped like her own vulva. Instead of giving in to censorship, she decided to fight for her freedom of expression and publish this autobiographical manga.
This work reflects on the contradictory perception of the female sex in Japanese society, narrating her personal experience with the judicial system and her defense of sexual and artistic freedom against repression.
