Oficio de ángel is a novel by Cuban writer Miguel Barnet, published in 1989. The story narrates the life of a middle-class young man in Havana during the 1940s to 1962, offering a vision of Cuban idiosyncrasy in a period of political and social changes. Through a fragmented memory, the author reconstructs a childhood and adolescence with a narrative style that immerses itself in the reverie of memory, resulting in a poetic and lyrical prose.
