«Os Cães não Dançam Ballet» is a children's picture book by Anna Kemp, published by Livraria Civilização Editora in hardcover (32 pages, in Portuguese).
A dog who is not like the others: he has no interest in doing his business on lampposts, scratching himself, or drinking from the toilet, but instead enjoys the moonlight, music, and dancing on tiptoe. Convinced he is really a ballerina, he dreams of performing on stage in his tutu.
It is the first title in the Biff the Ballerina-dog series, with illustrations by Sara Ogilvie. The book was published in 2010 and won the ILA/CBC Children's Choices award.
A story to read aloud, aimed at young children and those who enjoy tales of animals that break the mold.
Anna Kemp is a children's book author. Her books have been shortlisted for the Oscar's Book Prize, Roald Dahl Funny Prize, and Waterstones Children's Book Prize.
