«Osman. Der Dschinn in der Klemme» is Ute Krause's children's fantasy novel, published by Oetinger in hardcover (189 pages, in German).
Anton moves with his family to Vienna and finds a dusty bottle in a small shop. When he opens it, Osman appears, a genie who grants wishes, though making them is not so simple. With his sister Fanny, Anton ends up immersed in an adventure that transports him to the past, to the Turkish camp, to help Osman settle an old debt.
First installment of the «Osman, der Dschinn» series, published in 2009. Ute Krause herself illustrated the cover and the interior vignettes.
Recommended for child readers aged 10 and up, especially if they are looking for fantastical adventures with a historical backdrop.
