«¡Otra maldita novela sobre la guerra civil!» is the novel by Isaac Rosa, published by Seix Barral in paperback (448 pages, in Spanish).
Two stories intersect: Julián Santos, a writer with an unusual commission, and Gonzalo Mariñas, a skillful politician with secrets, around a vanished village. An anonymous reader slips into the text to mock the author, and the book becomes a critical reading of the clichés of the civil war.
It reworks Isaac Rosa's first novel, La malamemoria (1999), and was published in February 2007 in the Biblioteca Breve collection.
A work aimed at readers of contemporary Spanish fiction seeking a metafictional take on historical memory.
Isaac Rosa Camacho is a Spanish writer. He is best known for his novel El vano ayer which won the Premio Rómulo Gallegos in 2005. Rosa is the third Spanish writer to receive this award. Other noted works include El país del miedo and La habitación oscura.
