«Paraíso inhabitado» is the novel by Ana María Matute, published by Booket in paperback (400 pages, in Spanish).
Adriana grows up in a home where the love between her parents has already faded. To escape that reality, she invents her own paradise in her imagination, a refuge that falters when she starts school and discovers the world of adults, often strange and hostile. A novel about the sensitivity, rebelliousness and sincerity of childhood.
The work originally appeared in 2008; this Booket edition, from the Novela collection, was published in March 2010.
For readers of contemporary fiction and coming-of-age stories featuring children.
