«Patto col passato» is the science fiction and time travel novel by Susan Price, in hardcover, published by Fabbri (517 pages, in Italian).
A «Time Metropolitan» connects the 21st century with the 16th: scientists from the future come into contact with the Sterkarm clan. Andrea, sent as a spy, falls in love with Per Sterkarm, son of the clan chief, while modern technology clashes with medieval traditions in a story of adventure and romance.
First installment of the Sterkarm saga; the original work, «The Sterkarm Handshake», was published in 1998. Winner of the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize 1999 and nominated for the Carnegie Medal 1998.
Recommended for young readers aged 12 and over who enjoy science fiction, time travel and stories of adventure and romance.
