The book brings together a selection of poems by Paul Verlaine, a nineteenth-century French poet. The texts come from several of the author's collections and reveal a style highly attentive to the rhythm and sound of verse, in an edition designed as a first approach to his lyric poetry.
It was published in 1982 and reissued in 2001 in Gallimard's Folio Junior collection.
Intended for young readers who want to discover French poetry in its original language.
Paul Marie Verlaine was a French poet, writer and critic associated with the Symbolist, Parnassianist and Decadent movements. He is considered one of the paramount exponents of the fin de siècle in French and international poetry.
