«Pay It Forward» (Young Readers Edition) is the young adult novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde, published by Scholastic Inc. in paperback (261 pages, in English).
Trevor McKinney, a twelve-year-old boy from California, devises a chain of favors for a school project: help three people and ask them to pay the help forward to three others instead of returning the favor. The gesture grows into a movement of kindness that attracts the attention of a journalist and transforms his community.
The novel inspired the real-life chain-of-favors movement known as «Pay It Forward»; this edition adapts the story for elementary school readers.
For young readers looking for inspiring stories about solidarity and the effect of small actions on everyday life.
