«Payasos en la lavadora» is the black comedy novel by Álex de la Iglesia, published by Planeta in paperback (167 pages, in Spanish).
An abandoned computer in Bilbao during the Semana Grande hides the frenetic story of Juan Carlos Satrústegi, an unemployed poet trapped in a spiral of drugs, sex and violence. With black humor and nods to popular culture, the novel portrays the society of its time, culminating in a literary gala at the Hotel Ercilla.
The first edition, published in Barcelona in 1997, was part of Planeta's Fábula Collection.
Intended for adult readers who enjoy black humor and for fans of Álex de la Iglesia's movies.
