«Pénélope est polie» is the picture book by Anne Gutman and Georg Hallensleben, published by Gallimard jeunesse in hardcover (26 pages, in French).
Pénélope, a small blue koala, puts politeness formulas to the test in her daily life: when leaving school she must remember that, after greeting with «bonjour», it's time to say goodbye with «au revoir»; if she steps on the cat's tail, is the right word «merci» or «pardon»? And when night comes, before sleeping you have to say «bonne nuit».
The work is the eighth volume in the series «Pénélope tête en l’air», published by Gallimard jeunesse in 2008.
Recommended for children aged 3 and up, it serves to introduce good manners into daily routines.
