«Pequeno presépio de poemas de Natal» is the poetry anthology by Rodrigo Emílio, published by Antília Editora in paperback (190 pages, in Portuguese).
It brings together eighty-five Christmas poems written by Rodrigo Emílio between 1959 and 2003, almost all unpublished, which evoke the memory and solitude of Christmas. It opens with the author's study of the Nativity in Portuguese poetry: how Portuguese lyric poetry incorporated the feast and the role of religiosity and regionalism as creative stimuli.
Published on 1 November 2005, the volume includes a preliminary study signed by Rodrigo Emílio himself.
For readers of Portuguese poetry and for those interested in the treatment of Christmas in Portuguese lyric poetry.
