«Pieza de verano» is the novel by German writer Christa Wolf, published by Seix Barral in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Ellen, a writer, spends a summer with family and friends in the countryside of Mecklenburg. An intense and exceptional community emerges, against the social stagnation of the late seventies. Memory, nature and the passage of time run through the work, which celebrates summer fullness while evoking the decline of a political utopia.
The publication is part of the Biblioteca Breve collection by Seix Barral and appeared on June 1, 1990.
It will appeal to readers of contemporary European fiction and to those who value an atmospheric novel with social and political undertones.
Christa Wolf was a German novelist and essayist. She is considered one of the most important writers to emerge from the former East Germany.
