«Piolhex no planeta Capitis» is the children's story by Manuela Mota Ribeiro, published by Jardim das Histórias in paperback (32 pages, in Portuguese).
Piolhex, a small and swift louse, thinks he is the smartest on his planet and dreams of discovering another world in an original way. Since he has no wings, he travels clinging to scarves, hats and combs. Through his adventure, the book explains to the youngest what pediculosis is and how to prevent it, one of the most common parasitic infections in childhood.
The paperback edition was published in May 2016 and includes illustrations by Ricardo Roque Martins.
Recommended for preschool and school-age children, and useful as a support for talking about hygiene and prevention of pediculosis.
