Platero y yo es una obra lírica en prosa del escritor español Juan Ramón Jiménez, publicada por primera vez en 1914. La obra narra la vida del poeta en su pueblo natal, Moguer, a través de sus experiencias con Platero, un burro manso y cariñoso. El libro es una elegía andaluza, una autobiografía lírica y una inmortalización del pueblo natal del autor. Esta edición de Cátedra, con edición de Michael P. Predmore, ofrece el texto cuidado de la edición alargada (1917), cuatro apéndices y un estudio de esta obra clave de la literatura contemporánea.
