«Poema de Mio Cid» is volume II of the anonymous Castilian epic poem, published by the Hon. City Council of Burgos in paperback, 327 pages, in Spanish.
Composed around 1200, it is the oldest surviving epic poem in the Castilian language. It is based on the historical figure of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the Cid, and narrates his fall from grace, his military campaigns and the recovery of his honor, with the conquest of Valencia as the central episode.
