«Puñaladas traperas de la historia» is the historical essay by Pedro Voltes Bou, published by Espasa in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
Instead of exalting deeds and virtues, the book gathers shameful scenes, vile acts and infamies starring famous figures, from biblical antiquity to recent times. Julius Caesar, the Borgias, the Princess of Éboli, Jack the Ripper or John Dillinger appear on the dark side that official chronicles used to silence.
The book was published on February 10, 2009 in the Espasa Forum collection.
For fans of historical popularization who prefer scandalous episodes and the less idealized side of great figures.
