«Purgatorio» is the second part of the Divine Comedy, the epic poem by Dante Alighieri, published by Distribooks Inc in paperback (688 pages, in Italian).
Dante and Virgil ascend the mountain of Purgatory, formed by Lucifer's fall and surrounded by the sea. On its seven terraces, souls atone for their sins through penances before reaching Eden and attaining eternal bliss. The poem thus reflects on the nature of sin, redemption, and the purification of the soul.

Intended for readers of epic poetry, medieval literature, and Italian classics, as well as for those studying Dante's work.
