«¡Que comience la fiesta!» is the young adult novel by Joan Barceló i Cullerés, published by La Galera in hardcover (123 pages, in Spanish).
In a peripheral neighborhood of Barcelona, a group of boys and girls tries to escape monotony and bring some color back to their daily lives. The story takes a critical look at a society without imagination, but avoids pamphleteering: it leaves loose ends, reflections and dialogues so that the reader can participate and reach their own conclusions.
Folch i Torres Prize 1979. Work from the Los Grumetes de la Galera collection. Originally published in 1980.
A suitable read for young adult readers and for those who appreciate social narrative that invites reflection.
