«Querido Max» is the children's novel by Sally Grindley, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (152 pages, in Spanish).
Max, a nine-year-old boy who wants to be a writer, writes to D. J. Lucas after reading one of his books. The author's reply begins a pen-pal friendship in which the boundary between writer and reader blurs. The story shows that there are many ways to solve problems and that sometimes all you need is a pencil and paper.
It is the first title in the Max series, from the El Barco de Vapor Naranja collection by SM. It includes illustrations by Tony Ross and a translation by Xohana Bastida Calvo.
Recommended for readers aged 8 to 12, especially those who enjoy stories about friendship, writing and correspondence.
