Synopsis of Quincas Borba

Quincas Borba es una novela del autor brasileño Machado de Assis, publicada originalmente en 1891. La historia sigue a Rubião, un joven que hereda una gran fortuna de su amigo Quincas Borba, un filósofo excéntrico que desarrolló una filosofía llamada 'Humanitismo'. Rubião se muda a Río de Janeiro y se involucra en una serie de desventuras mientras intenta navegar por la alta sociedad y administrar su nueva riqueza. La novela es una sátira de la sociedad brasileña del siglo XIX y explora temas como la ambición, la locura y la naturaleza humana.
