«Ranocchi a merenda» is the children's story by Guido Quarzo, illustrated by Cecco Mariniello, published by Piemme Junior in paperback (49 pages, in Italian).
A fairy searches for her prince charming and turns every frog she meets into a prince, but they feel uncomfortable in human skin. A very clever frog proposes the reverse solution: the fairy should become a frog and look for her soulmate in the pond. The story pokes fun at the classic tale and at the idea of changing others for love.
It corresponds to number 15 of the Serie bianca of Il Battello a Vapore; the copy is the 2nd edition (1996).
For young readers who enjoy animal stories and humorous versions of fairy tales.
