«Rebeca» is the gothic novel by Daphne du Maurier, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (512 pages, in Spanish).
An unnamed young woman marries the wealthy widower Maxim de Winter and moves into his mansion, Manderley, where the memory of his first wife, Rebeca, who drowned at sea, remains ever-present. The hostility of the sinister housekeeper, Mrs Danvers, and the secrets surrounding Rebeca will test the new marriage.
Set on the Cornish coast, it was originally published in 1938 and adapted into a movie by Alfred Hitchcock in 1940.
