Reconstructions

Synopsis of Reconstructions

«(Re)constructions» is the historical essay by Nicolas Baverez, published by Editions de l'Observatoire in paperback (240 pages, in French).

Facing the covid pandemic, Baverez argues that the 2020s will be decisive: free nations can either disintegrate and leave room for authoritarian regimes, or reinvent themselves with a renewed economic and social pact, recovering civic commitment and forging alliances in defense of freedom. Democracy, capitalism, Europe and France: everything is to be rethought.

The cover bears the subtitle «Quand les épidémies font l'Histoire»; the edition was published on September 29, 2021.

A work of analysis aimed at those interested in politics, history and current affairs, especially the social impact of major crises.
