In 'Return to Eden', Paco Roca transports us to post-war Spain through the story of a humble family struggling to survive under the Franco dictatorship. Based on a family photograph taken in 1946 on Nazaret beach, Valencia, Roca draws an emotional and balanced portrait of a society marked by scarcity and lack of freedoms. With a first-rate narrative style and full of autobiographical references, this work is a search for memory and a reflection on the moral miseries of an era.
Francisco Martínez Roca aka Paco Roca is a Spanish strip cartoonist with experience in graphic novels and advertisement illustrations.
