«Rodogune» is the tragedy by Pierre Corneille, published by Folio in paperback (224 pages, in French).
A dark tragedy by Corneille, woven around dynastic ambition and a family torn apart by love and hatred. In the court of Syria, Queen Cleopatra pulls the strings of a plot of alliances and betrayals. The tension builds to a denouement that Stendhal compared to the works of Shakespeare.
The 2004 edition is edited by Jean Serroy and belongs to the Folio Théâtre collection. The play was originally published in 1644.
Recommended for readers of classical French theater and for scholars of seventeenth-century literature.
