«Romances y leyendas de caballería» is a collection of medieval romances and legends by A. R. Hope Moncrieff, in paperback (397 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together romances and legends around medieval chivalry. It describes the ideal knight —intrepid, loyal, courteous and honorable— and gathers deeds that minstrels exalted in verse before the courts of kings. For centuries, these tales were a model for the European nobility and kept alive the code of chivalric honor.
It belongs to the «Mitos y leyendas» collection by M. E. Editores. It is a translation of the original «Romance & legend of chivalry»; translators: Cristina Mª Borrego, Nicola J. Bogle and Marta Olmos.
For readers interested in European medieval history, the chivalric ideal and the legends that have fed the literature of chivalry.
