«Rondalles Universals» is a storybook by various authors, published by Polígrafa in hardcover (158 pages, in Catalan).
The work brings together a selection of classic tales in Catalan and presents them as an illustrated book: Steinlen, Job, Myrbach and Vogel provide the images, with scenes evoking libraries, printing presses and period settings. The cover, featuring a reader in an old library, hints at that literary and retrospective character.
Published in 1987. It is catalogued in the children's and young adult and art and culture areas.
It is aimed at a children's and young adult audience and at those interested in classic illustration and traditional tales.
André Jobin, known as Job, was a Swiss francophone comics creator. He is probably best known for his western children's comics series Yakari, for which he wrote the scripts from 1973 until 2016.
