This edition, prepared by Josep Maria Sala Valldaura, offers an essential collection of the 'sainetes' (short comic plays) by Ramón de la Cruz, a key figure in 18th-century Spanish theater. The work includes both his most famous pieces and a selection of lesser-known texts, based on the most reliable testimonies to provide a complete and rigorous theatrical reading of his legacy. These plays are noted for their realism and their ability to capture the social and political concerns of their time, laying the foundations for modern comedy.
