«San Pedro Bautista y compañeros protomártires de Japón» is the biography written by Cayetano Sánchez Fuertes, published by BAC in paperback.
The work reconstructs the life and martyrdom of Saint Peter Baptist and his twenty-six companions, protomartyrs of Japan, executed for their Christian faith. It narrates their diverse origins —three continents and different social classes— and their evangelizing work, with special attention to the option for the poor that marked their mission and proved uncomfortable for the Japan of that era.
Published in 2019 by Biblioteca Autores Cristianos, in the BACbiografías collection; 352 pages in Spanish.
It appeals to readers of religious biographies and to those studying the history of missions and Christianity in Japan.
