«Sangre de hielo» is the first novel in Elly Blake's young adult fantasy saga, published by Roca Infantil y Juvenil in paperback (352 pages, in Spanish).
Ruby, a seventeen-year-old Fireblood, hides her fire powers to survive in a kingdom ruled by the Frostblood, a cruel class that governs with an iron fist. After her mother's murder, Ruby decides to join the rebels to avenge the bloodthirsty king. Training with them won't be easy, but before she can fight she is captured and forced to take part in games where Fireblood prisoners face Frostblood champions. In that arena, Ruby risks her life and discovers that the ice she should hate can become her most intimate ally.
First installment of the Sangre de hielo trilogy, written by Elly Blake and translated by Laura Fernández. The original English edition saw the light in 2017 under the title «Frostblood».
Recommended for young readers aged 12 and up looking for epic fantasy with romance and action, in the vein of «La reina Roja» by Victoria Aveyard.
