«Schöner wird's nicht» is the humorous essay collection by David Sedaris, published by Heyne Taschenbuch in paperback (320 pages, in German).
In this collection of autobiographical essays, Sedaris turns the absurdity of daily life into humor: trying to make coffee without water, protecting windows with vinyl covers from insistent birds, or the awkward memories of a trip, culminating in his attempt to quit smoking in Tokyo.
The German edition is translated by Georg Deggerich; the original title, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, was published in 2008. It is the author's sixth essay collection.
Recommended for readers of humor and memoirs who enjoy everyday situations narrated with irony.
