«Se vende mamá» is the children's novel by Care Santos, published by EDICIONES SM in hardcover (176 pages, in Spanish).
Óscar is eight years old and is convinced that his mother is a problem: she makes him read, forbids him sweets and adores Garbanzo, his little brother, who only knows how to eat, sleep and cry. His solution is as drastic as it is absurd: sell her. The boy will end up discovering that nothing is more valuable than his family's love.
It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Blanca collection and the «Se vende» series. It won the El Barco de Vapor Prize in 2009 and includes illustrations by Andrés Guerrero.
Recommended for young readers aged 7 and up who enjoy family stories told with humor.
