«Serena calamidad» is a novel by José Domingo Vilaplana Guerrero, published by Editora Regional de Extremadura in paperback (206 pages, in Spanish).
Don Cosme de Tobar and the micro-stories that make up his personal history are a metaphor for solitude and a tragicomic sarcasm about the madness of defying it. The narration mixes voices and times from the protagonist's lost memory and reflects the overlap between life, landscape and history with serene and calamitous naturalness.
It is part of the Narrativa collection from Editora Regional de Extremadura, where it is number 30. It is the first edition.
For readers of contemporary fiction looking for a tragicomic novel about solitude, memory and landscape.
