«Sermon sur la mort et autres sermons» is an anthology of sermons by Jacques Bénigne Bossuet, published by Flammarion in paperback, 188 pages in French.
The sermons by Bossuet gathered in this volume, including the famous «Sermon sur la mort» delivered before the Court in 1662, reflect on the vanity of power, the transience of life and death, with a classical eloquence combining rhetoric and Christian doctrine.
This edition belongs to Flammarion's GF collection and includes a chronology, preface and bibliography by Jacques Truchet.
A work suited to those interested in the sacred oratory of French classicism and in philosophical reflection on death.
