Thad Roberts, an employee of a prestigious NASA program, had a romantic and crazy idea: to give his girlfriend the Moon. To do this, he convinced his partner and another accomplice to break into one of NASA's laboratories and steal lunar rocks, the most precious minerals in the world. What was he trying to achieve by stealing such valuable stones when mere possession of them is illegal? Was Thad Roberts really what he seemed? Ben Mezrich has meticulously studied thousands of pages of court records, FBI transcripts and NASA documents, and has interviewed the main protagonists to reconstruct this Ocean's Eleven-style robbery, a crazy story of ingenuity and love that is enjoyed like a fast-paced Hollywood movie.
