«Shelter Cats» is Michael Kloth's collection of cat photographs, published by Merrell Publishers in hardcover (128 pages, in English).
Photographer Michael Kloth portrays more than eighty cats and kittens living in shelters, some encountered during his volunteer work. The images show animals of different ages, breeds and temperaments, from curious and playful to proud or shy, and aim to convey the feline spirit. The book combines the portraits with a reflection on shelter conditions and the need to give visibility to abandoned animals and encourage their adoption.
Published in 2010, it is the first edition. The cover states that part of the proceeds from each copy sold in the United States goes to the ASPCA.
For cat lovers and animal photography enthusiasts, as well as those interested in adoption and animal welfare.
