«Si grita, suéltale» is the novel by Chester Himes, published by Ediciones Júcar in paperback (216 pages, in Spanish).
Set during World War II, it tells the story of Bob Jones, a Black man who works in a shipyard in Los Angeles. The plot follows his attempts to navigate a society hostile to his race, amid everyday racism and the labor tensions of a place described as a powder keg.
The work was originally published in 1945 as «If He Hollers Let Him Go»; this Spanish edition appeared in 1989.
A classic for readers interested in twentieth-century African American literature and social protest.
