«Siam, la grande histoire de Siam, éléphant d'Asie» is the illustrated picture book by Daniel Conrod and François Place, published by Rue du Monde in paperback.
Siam, an Asian elephant, worked dragging timber in India, was feted at grand parties, taken to a European circus, a movie actor and, later, an attraction at the zoo and museum. His life serves to reflect on the relationship between humans and elephants, and on work, celebration, displacement and fame.
Siam was born in 1946 and died on September 24, 1997. The book is in French and was published in 2007.
For children and young people who want to learn the real story of an animal through an illustrated picture book.
