«Siete cuentos imposibles» is the short story collection by Javier Argüello, published by Lumen in hardcover (160 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together seven fantastical stories, between the dreamlike and the unsettling. A writer discovers he is a character in another fiction, a professor orders a house to be built underground, and a young man meets in London a nineteenth-century writer who has travelled to the future. Argüello plays with the boundaries between reality and fiction.
It is Javier Argüello's first book, published in 2002, and belongs to the Palabra en el Tiempo collection, number 323. The cover indicates the second edition.
For readers of fantastical short stories and metafictional games, interested in contemporary Hispanic American authors.
